Alphabeat have moved from their native Silkeborg, Denmark to London and have been received with top 10 hits both in the single and album charts – not bad. But is it no surprise, since their music is spreading like a highly infectious dance virus. Even though the band is a six-piece, the sound is sparse which makes Alphabeat’s disco minimalistic and likeable. Especially because the production has avoided the usual effects and sentimental wall of sound-clichés. Along with the beat, the strong male as well as female vocals (courtesy of Anders SG and Stine Bramsen) are representing the steady ground of the songs. Songs like “Fascination” and “10,000 Nights” are already big hits, “Touch Me Touching You” might be a new chart-basher, and in general, this in a great dance album for dedicated dancers.
