"Infantilism. Hospitals and animals, junkfood and whiskey." Those are the influnces Siri af burén mentions for her project Band In Box. It started as a semi-ironic twee duo, and when she went solo she made up some rules for Band in Box to follow, The rules of the Band in Box bakery. The first one stipulates that Band in Box "will explore a new instrument each month" In december she explored the clarinet, january was devoted to the ukulele, february she learned to handle tambourines, march violin etc... "If I don’t know anything about playing a specific instrument, neither will I know when I’ll make mistakes.", af Burén states.

This playful curiosity permeates "This Fiction", the music is constantly looking for new angels and sounds. The result is a delight; charming yet contemplative. A kind of tranquil euphoria hovers over the album; exciting but never obtrusive. // Lars Jämtelid
