On their fourth album, the former post-rock band continue their journey away from the rock guitar and into pop land. This time, the electronic elements, the samples and the loops have been increased a bit. Still, the melodies and the choruses are the most important things. This is evident on songs like ”Up To Your Neck”, ”Couldn't Lose A Job” and ”A Rock In A Pond”. There are also a lot of interesting details to explore: The sampled female singers on ”Couldn't Lose A Job” for instance, or the chaotic-but-beautiful guitar noise that opens ”Suckerpunch”. And as usual, you can enjoy loads of great, Beach Boys inspired vocal harmonies. A really well done more or less alternative pop/rock album.
