”Parades” is an almost shockingly well-arranged and well-produced album by this deeply original Copenhagen band who has already gained international acclaim among critics and connoisseurs. It is the second Efterklang album and as the equally highly recommendable 2004 debut “Tripper” and the spring 2007 mini album “Under Giant Trees”, it combines melancholic electronica, whispering lead vocals, mesmerising choir arrangements and elegant string and brass sections. “Parades” was elected as “album of the year” by the GAFFA reviewers and was number 23 among English Mojo Magazine's 50 albums of the year - and will certainly appeal to fans of original and otherworldly bands like Sigur Rós, Godspeed You Black Emperor! and the Cocteau Twins – but sounds like no one but themselves. // Ole Rosenstand Svidt
