"Bless You", the debut album by the duo Lulu Rouge - aka the producers and DJ's T.O.M. and Buda - was before its release one of the most hyped and expected albums in Denmark this year, which is quite unusual, given the fact that the genre is electronic music. This might not have happened before Trentemøller's breakthrough, but don't compare them too much. Lulu Rouge are playing the same sort of dub-orientated and melancholic electronica, but they are something special, and the music features guest vocalists ofter than the duo's old friend Trentemøller's. The musical is minimal without being antagonistic and dubby without being too introspective. The mood is dark and at the same time laid back as groovy and sexy - for example on songs like the dubby and moody signature song "Lulu's Song", "Thinking of You" featuring the fabulous singer Tuco, the title track featuring the vocalist Mikael Simpson and the more straight-forward pop song "Sweeter The Sweet". A brilliant debut.
