An oasis. An oasis of peace, with true pop and rock, created with splendid Spanish lyrics. That’s what we found in the last album from Merche Corisco, a Spanish singer that sometimes reminds us to Sherly Crow or Alanis Morissette in his songs, and sometimes a little bit of Bjork/Amelie in his videos. Merche invites the listener to an interesting 12 songs journey, from the optimism of “Salió el sol” (the single) to the angry “Caja de zapatos”, which have some hip-hop moments, taking a rest in the beautiful ballad “Oasis”. A great operation of personal voice + combative lyrics + excellent production, that has as result one of the best pop-rock albums from Spain in 2009.
