The story of Michal Motyčka aka NiceLand looks like a fairy tale. Young boy from provincial town in Moravia got his first guitar at the age of 16. He used to compose whenever he felt blue and the only audience was himself. One day the internet advertisiment attracted his attention and he joined the „Coca-Cola Popstar“ competition. It was his first public performance. To suprise of all he won the whole competition and was offered to make an album. This album is so pure and authentic. NiceLand is not shaped into the type of a standard pop singer, but he has got very specific voice and phrasing. Although his compositions are quite pleasing, they are imaginative and carefully worked-out. It remains only to hope, that this likely lad will not blow out as many of young stars. // Jan Kyncl
