"Peters" is a stroke of luck for the local indie scene. Angluar to the last note and often dodgy they sing a song of praise to the D.C. scene surrounding the label Dischord, in German words. They quickly change from pithy rap to an uneasy political torrent of words. The guitar always at hand, never broad, but in slope angles filigree, it plays with the jerky rythms of the drums and the bass. Though this is written a bit cumbersome it suits to the sound of "Peters" debutalbum "auffallen durch umfallen" ("striking by falling down"). It is one of those debutalbums, none of the others, and thereby always modestly conspicuous. It is no masterpiece, therefore a vital exclamation mark. // tore / tamara
