Big beat has always been big in Belgium. The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim have already dropped numerous bombs on high masses like Pukkelpop and Rock Werchter, but our own representatives are also knocking on the door. Jimmy Dewit and Luuk Cox aka Shameboy brew a pumping mix of the genre with fierce elektropunk and raverock that will create an orgastic dance-orgy in many clubs and livingrooms. Their debut ‘Hi, Lo And In Between’ already contained furious crackers like ‘Rechoque’, ‘Strobot’ and ‘Wired For Sound’ and the material on ‘Heartcore’ is even more explosive. ‘Splend It’, ‘Stumble’ and the fantastic title track are a merciless speedrush of blood to the head and tracks like ‘Abfahrer’ and ‘Monofour’ are a kick in the butt of acts like Digitalism and Rex The Dog. ‘Heartcore’ is the perfect evidence that Belgium knows how to party hard!
