Rockit is a project entirely dedicated to Italian independent music. It was founded in May 1997 as a webzine and it officially became a nation-wide cultural association in 2000. Rockit is now also a free-press magazine (“Rockit MAG”) distributed in the main Italian cities in 20,000 copies, and a music festival (“MI AMI - Musica Indipendente A MIlano”) held every June in Milan with the best of the Italian independent music scene.

Rockit offers a free subscription service to all Italian bands. At present, its database contains almost 15,000 registered Italian bands, which is the biggest database resource for music in Italy.

Rockit is managed by a young staff of 7 people and has more than 50 active contributors from all around Italy.
